Senior Engineer – BSc Eng (Aero) – Aerosud

Jean-Pierre Louis Serfontein is a Senior R&D Engineer at Aerosud Aviation. He graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineer (Aeronautical) in 2007. He started his engineering career in 2008 at Denel Aeronautics (formerly Denel Saab Aerostructures) as a Stress Engineer on the Airbus A400M program. During his tenure at Denel, he worked on two of the A400M work packages, the Top Shells and Wing-to-Fuselage (WFF). In 2012, he joined Aerosud Aviation where he formed part of the Engineering Testing and Stress department. He worked on the Airbus A400M Nose Fuselage and Cargo Hold Linings work packages where he conducted qualification testing and stress analysis for certification. In 2018, he moved to the Research and Development department and is the team leader for metallic research which focuses on additive manufacturing and forming technologies.
